John Beck, Pennies On The Dollar, Is It A Scam?

January 8th, 2009

Late night TV is loaded with money making opportunities from internet success to real estate investing courses and John Beck and his Free and Clear system has taken a top spot among the infomercial guru’s. The lure of easy money on just one Free and Clear real estate deal is enough to get you to take a second look at 2 am.

But can it actually be done? Can you take a course on buying tax burdened properties and come out with enough in your pocket to pay the bills? Big deals can always be found in the real estate market even in a down economy.

Even in this economy, which is booming for some businesses, finding a property that you can buy for a few hundred bucks is a one in a million deal. Seasoned real estate investors like John Beck probably have quite a few trophy properties under their belts, but those are the exception and not the rule. John Beck has years of experience, education being able to analyze markets and properties and I’m sure hours or months of work go into just one of these trophy deals.

But just starting out, can you find a Big Deal or even a little one?

John Beck Free and Clear course is a $39.95 education that probably won’t get you too far with out a bit of hand holding to get you through your first few deals.

To find that profitable deal, you’ll have to pour over tax and bank records and fight it out with some seasoned real estate investors for the same property for that one Free and Clear deal. Let’s face it, a property for pennies on the dollar is sure to attract some heavy hitters.

To give you an edge over the standard education, after your $39 dollar investment in the basic Free and Clear course, you’ll be offered an opportunity for personal coaching from John Beck’s staff with a price tag of about $8,000.

Now, if you were able to make just one Free and Clear purchase and make a profit, the education may just be worth it. It sounds so easy at the beginning, with the excitement of an opportunity to change your lifestyle with just a few hours a week looking for some stressed out homeowners that are behind on their taxes.

Although it sounds fairly simple, most who invest in the program will more than likely not stick it out and call it quits after a few months of unsuccessful deals. It’s a lot of work, but the rewards can be fairly elusive.

Bottom line is the real estate industry is packed with seasoned investors with years of experience under their belt looking for that same deal. Don’t you think every person with a real estate license would be looking for this type of deal if the secrets could be found in a $39 dollar course. The odds are not in your favor and if you didn’t purchase the John Beck coaching program, I’ afraid your odds of using tax stressed real estate to pay the bills are far less.

Are John Beck and his courses a hoax?

Not at all. There is some legitimate bases in most if not all of these home businesses. Problem is most give limited information and for those that are really committed, they need to take their education to the next level. I’m sure the testimonials on John Beck’s TV shows are real people with true success stories. But the time, effort and risk in this industry is something I would stay away from, unless you can afford to take a loss.

What ever you choose, I wish you Good Luck!
